Hazel's
Story

With a Broadcast and Journalism degree from LCF, Hazel’s career began in the fashion departments of the UK’s national newspapers and women’s lifestyle titles. Moving on to work with one of the country’s most revered television production companies, she logged intense but exhilarating hours in artist talent management. Here, she worked closely with icons such as Keith Flint while applying her natural passion for storytelling and the visual arts.

But, in 2007, sudden news brought Hazel’s career to a halt.

Diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, Hazel unearthed a need to reassess her priorities and cultivate a life more in-tune with her personal and professional desires. Survival gave her the impetus and courage to nurture her entrepreneurial spirit.

Hazel transitioned into the vintage retail and events industry. Here, she worked with brands like Tate, Selfridges, and Somerset house while also teaching young adults about the business of fashion on behalf of the Prince’s Trust.

Crafting unique and immersive experiences, Hazel developed a detailed knowledge of how flowers can bring an event to life.

With this seed planted, she resurfaced a lifelong love and natural intuition for gardening, floristry, and horticulture.

Hazel retrained in 2016 and launched her namesake floral design studio shortly after. Today, she directs a skilled team of freelancers to produce boundary-breaking floral experiences for an illustrious roster of clients.

Beyond the studio, Hazel is a speaker, broadcaster, writer and content creator while also being recognised as a thought-leader in the horticulture space. She has produced work for, and been profiled by, publications including Living Etc, Red Magazine, The Sunday Times and Stella. Hazel has also created inspiring photography and video content for brands such as Barbour, Elemis, Matches and Papier.
